A reducer fitting is typically used in pump station pipe work to reduce the size of the suction pipe to match the size of the pump suction end flange. Reducer fittings used in pump inlet pipe work are divided into two types—concentric and eccentric reducers.
The two types of reducer socket fittings can be described as:
- Concentric reducer—The reduction of the pipe size is achieved by decreasing the diameter of the fitting at a constant rate over a specified length, maintaining symmetry around the fitting.
- Eccentric reducer—The reduction of the pipe size is achieved by decreasing the diameter of the fitting at a constant rate over a specified length, maintaining one side of the fitting horizontally.
An IBR Reducer Socket is the component in a pipeline that reduces the pipe size from a larger to a smaller bore (inner diameter). The length of the reduction is usually equal to the average of the larger and smaller pipe diameters. There are two main types of IBR Reducer: IBR Concentric Reducer and IBR Eccentric Reducers. An IBR Reducer can be used either as nozzle or as diffuser depending on the mach number of the flow.
Advanced Fittings can manufacture IBR Reducer upto Schedule XXS. Adfit manufactures IBR Reducer in Carbon Steel ASTM A234 WPB, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP1, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP5, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP9, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP11, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP12, Alloy Steel ASTM A234 WP22, Alloy Steel A234 WP91, Stainless Steel ASTM A403 304, Stainless Steel ASTM A403 304L, Stainless Steel ASTM A403 304H, Stainless Steel ASTM A403 316, Stainless Steel ASTM A403 316L and Stainless Steel ASTM A403 316H. Excellent material strength and finish. The Cast Steel Reducer Socket is perfectly in line with IBR standards, making it safe for our high-temperature pipelines. Flawless welding and no visible defects — a premium product worth every rupee.
Sturdy and well-finished reducer socket. The seamless design gives it a clean look and dependable performance under load. Ideal for power plant applications. It’s good to see such quality control on Indian-manufactured fittings.
We ordered multiple IBR Certified Reducer Sockets for a high-pressure steam project. The wall thickness and threading were precise, ensuring zero leakage. Very happy with the product consistency and documentation. Would gladly reorder!
Good machining and dimensional accuracy. The seamless Schedule 40 reducer socket connected flawlessly with our existing piping. Only minor concern was that delivery took a couple of extra days, but overall, quality is excellent and reliable.
Top-notch quality reducer sockets! The Cast Steel build feels solid, and the IBR certification gives full assurance for pressure applications. We used them in a condensate return line, and the fit was absolutely perfect. Great product for industrial setups.
