What is a Siphon Pipe?
A siphon pipe in short is a protecting tool for a pressure sensor. It protects the pressure sensors from unwanted hot temperature agents such as stem etc. Moreover, it also safeguards the pressure sensor from unwanted rapid pressure changes. These rapid changes can damage the pressure sensing mechanism working with spring. Siphon tubes are a cheap solution to increase the life of pressure sensors. Saving them from high temperatures.
Types of Siphon Pipe?
Siphon pipes can be differentiated on the basis of their material and their shape. Most commonly stainless steel siphon tubes are used. They come in variety of grades such as stainless 202, 304 and 316 grades. One can find these tubes also in WCB material and carbon steel forging material. Boilers are required to have a pressure meter with an IBR certified syphon tube. Siphon tubes can also made in other alloy materials.
Siphon tubes are also fabricated in different shapes. Most common are Q type and U type. These come in either threaded ends or butt welded ends for carbon steel material. These tubes can be fitted with additional coils for longer ends. User decides upon the design of the tube as per the space available.
